Minka has been the President of JMID for over five years, since her mother, Jinx, retired. She is a licensed interior designer and LEED AP with over 20 years of experience in the industry. Minka earned her Master’s degree in Interior Design at Florida State University and has garnered numerous accolades throughout her career, including Sand Dollar, Pinnacle, and Aurora Awards for design excellence. Minka loves working primarily in Naples, where she grew up, and is grateful to work with some of the best building professionals in the State. She loves creating casually elegant environments, believing that the right combination of beauty and comfort is the key to true luxury.
Beth is an award-winning Designer and Team Leader with decades of experience in the design industry. Beth creates exquisite designs, whether new construction or complete renovations, and manages the construction process with confidence. She pays tremendous attention to all the details in a project, is very attentive to her clients and has excellent communication skills. Patient and kind, Beth creates spaces that are inviting, inspiring, and that always reflect her clients’ personalities. She obtained her Bachelor’s degree in interior design from Baylor University in Texas and has lived in Naples, Florida for over 25 years.
Barbara Schwenk
Interior Designer
Barbara has worked with JMID for over 14 years and has risen through the ranks to become an exceptional Team Leader. An invaluable asset to our firm, Barb consistently delivers superb design and has won numerous awards and accolades while establishing herself as a stand-out in the competitive market of high-end designers here in Naples. The fact that so many of Barb’s clients come back to work with her on new projects year after year is a testimony to her talent and likeability. She is passionate about contemporary styling and developed a love of historic architecture while growing up in New England, which flows through her beautiful taste and thoughtful design. Barb holds Bachelor’s degrees in both interior design and communications.
Anna Bartuccio
Design Assistant
Anna joined JMID in 2024 and quickly became a valued Design Assistant with fantastic taste and a special talent for infusing color and texture into her designs. Having spent her life in Naples, she developed a deep appreciation for the elegant charm of Floridian design and knows the area and it’s special qualities well. With a Bachelor’s degree in interior design from Seminole State College, Anna utilizes tools like SketchUp and AutoCAD to create detailed floor plans and captivating renderings. Her mission is to design spaces that are not only beautiful but also functional, ensuring that every room tells a unique story.
Sarah (McDonald) Haacke
Office Manager
Sarah manages all business operations for the company. A retired lawyer, she brings a level head and sharp business sense to our creative team. Sarah earned her Juris Doctor from Nova Southeastern University and her Bachelor’s in political science from the University of South Florida. She is Jinx’s elder daughter and has been working in the family business for over fourteen years. While filing taxes and doing payroll, Sarah also organizes fun events for our team to keep us energized, inspired, and growing together.
Diana Dooley
Financial Administrator
Diana has been JMID’s Financial Administrator for over fourteen years. She has extensive experience on the financial side of the design business and oversees all data processing and accounting. Diana is the ultimate team player, supporting our Designers with ordering and supply chain management throughout the course of their projects. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in business administration from Slippery Rock University of Pennsylvania before settling down in southwest Florida.
Jinx McDonald
Founder/Owner
Jinx is one of Naples’ most celebrated Interior Designers, respected for her outstanding creations and known for her warm and lively personality. Jinx started the company over 20 years ago and won countless awards for projects located throughout Florida, Costa Rica, Jamaica, the Bahamas, Canada and Ireland. She retired at the end of 2019 and is proudly watching her legacy continue in the hands of her daughters and beloved staff. Originally from Jamaica, Jinx still reminds her team to keep the fun in their designs, and that developing beautiful environments is a privilege that should always be an expression of our Client’s joy.
